Core Text of Chazal

Core Text — Menachos 66a

English: One verse says “six days you shall eat matzos,” and another says “seven days you shall eat matzos.” How so? Matzah that you cannot eat for seven days from the new grain — you can eat for six days from the new grain.

Type of Learning

Reconciliation of seven-day and six-day matzah verses via the chadash boundary.

What Is Learned

New-grain matzah may be eaten only from the second day of Pesach onward (six days); the first day uses old grain.
