Core Text of Chazal

Core Text — Berachos 3b

English: “I will go out into the midst of Egypt” — since it did not say “I will enter,” learn from this that entry is also called “going out.”

On the daf / in context: See the cited source for the full section.

Type of Learning

Derash on the verse (midrash / Bavli) — not a formal named middah of the 13.

What Is Learned

The Torah’s use of “I will go out into Egypt” teaches that entering a place may be called “going out” from where one was previously.
