אָמַר רַבִּי יוֹחָנָן: כֵּיוָן שֶׁבָּא אַרְבֶּה שָׂמְחוּ הַמִּצְרִיִּים, אָמְרוּ נִקְבֹּץ וּנְמַלֵּא מֵהֶם חָבִיּוֹת. אָמַר הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא: רְשָׁעִים, בַּמַּכָּה שֶׁהֵבֵאתִי עֲלֵיכֶם בָּהּ אַתֶּם שְׂמֵחִים? מִיָּד וַיַּהֲפֹךְ ה׳ רוּחַ יָם… לֹא נִשְׁאַר אַרְבֶּה אֶחָד.
English: Rabbi Yochanan said: When the locusts came, the Egyptians rejoiced; they said, Let us gather and fill barrels with them. The Holy One, blessed be He, said: Wicked ones, with the plague I brought upon you, you rejoice? Immediately He turned a sea wind… not a single locust remained.
