Classical midrash on the precise fulfillment of the interpretation.

Sefaria · Bereshit Rabbah 90

Core Text of Chazal

כַּאֲשֶׁר אָמַר יוֹסֵף. הַפִּתְרוֹן נִתְקַיֵּם בְּדִיּוּק, וְהַלֶּחֶם נִשְׁאַר בְּמִצְרַיִם.

English of Core Text: “According as Yosef had said.” The interpretation was fulfilled exactly, and bread remained in Egypt.

On the daf / in context: The midrash emphasizes the perfect correspondence between Yosef’s words and the subsequent reality, validating both the dream and the dreamer.

Type of Learning: Derash on the verse (classic midrash) — not a formal named middah of the 13.

What Is Learned: The famine arrives exactly as interpreted; the accuracy of the prediction becomes the public confirmation of Yosef’s divine insight and the justification for the authority already granted him.
