פַּרְעֹה֙ קָצַ֣ף עַל־עֲבָדָ֔יו וַיִּתֵּ֨ן אֹתִ֜י בְּמִשְׁמַ֣ר בֵּ֣ית הַשָּׂ֑ר וַאֲנִ֖י עִמָּֽם׃
Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard’s house, both me and the chief baker.

א״ר חייא בר אבא א״ר יוחנן, הקציף הקב״ה אדון על עבדיו לעשות רצון צדיק, ומנו – יוסף, דכתיב פרעה קצף על עבדיו וגו׳.
English of Core Text: R’ Chiya bar Abba said in the name of R’ Yochanan: The Holy One, blessed be He, made a master angry with his servants in order to fulfill the will of a righteous man — and who is that? Yosef — as it is written, “Pharaoh was wroth with his servants…”
On the daf / in context: The Gemara (Megillah 13b) discusses how Hashem orchestrates events in the world to bring about the will of the righteous. The anger of Pharaoh toward the cupbearer and baker is presented as divinely arranged so that Yosef would meet the cupbearer and ultimately rise to power.
Type of Learning: Derash on the verse (Bavli sugya) — not a formal named middah of the 13; the sugya shows divine providence arranging political events for the sake of a tzaddik.
What Is Learned: Hashem arranges the anger of rulers and the placement of prisoners so that the will of a righteous person (here Yosef) can be fulfilled. Apparent setbacks for others become the means of elevation for the tzaddik.
