Vayeishev 37:14

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֗וֹ לֶךְ־נָ֨א רְאֵ֜ה אֶת־שְׁל֤וֹם אַחֶ֙יךָ֙ וְאֶת־שְׁל֣וֹם הַצֹּ֔אן וַהֲשִׁבֵ֖נִי דָּבָ֑ר וַיִּשְׁלָחֵ֙הוּ֙ מֵעֵ֣מֶק חֶבְר֔וֹן וַיָּבֹ֖א שְׁכֶֽמָה׃

And he said to him: Go now, see whether it is well with your brothers, and well with the flock; and bring me back word. So he sent him out of the valley of Chevron, and he came to Shechem.

תָּנֵי מִשּׁוּם רַבִּי יוֹסֵי: מָקוֹם מְזֻמָּן לְפֻרְעָנוּת. בִּשְׁכֶם עִנּוּ אֶת דִּינָה, בִּשְׁכֶם מָכְרוּ אֶת יוֹסֵף, בִּשְׁכֶם נֶחְלְקָה מַלְכוּת בֵּית דָּוִד.

English: It was taught in the name of Rabbi Yosei: A place designated for calamity. In Shechem they violated Dinah, in Shechem they sold Yosef, in Shechem the kingdom of the house of David was divided.

On the daf / in context: Sanhedrin 102a lists Shechem as a site repeatedly associated with misfortune across generations.
