Core Text

English: “And it was told to Lavan on the third day” — the report reached him after three days, corresponding to the distance that had been between them.

On the daf / in context: The three-day delay in the report matches the three-day separation Lavan himself had earlier imposed, giving Yaakov a head start.

Type of Learning

Derash / classical peirush — not a formal named middah of the 13. Narrative timing linked to the earlier three-day distance.

What Is Learned

The report of Yaakov’s flight reached Lavan only on the third day, the same interval Lavan had previously set between the flocks.
