Parashas Toldos · Passuk 26:22
He moved from there and dug yet another well, and they did not quarrel over it; so he called it Rechovot, saying, “Now at last Hashem has granted us ample space to increase in the land.”
Rashi on Bereishis 26:22 (classical source on this passuk; not listed as a numbered Torah Temimah unit here).
Lemma / focus: ופרינו בארץ.
English: As the Targum: and we shall increase in the land.
Derash on the verse (Rashi / Targum) — not a formal named middah of the 13: the name is linked to divine broadening.
The third well was named Rechovot—“Hashem has granted us ample space”—and there was no quarrel over it.
