Parashas Toldos · Passuk 26:18
Yitzchak dug again the wells of water which had been dug in the days of Avraham his father and which the Philistines had stopped up after Avraham’s death, and he gave them the same names that his father had given them.
Rashi on Bereishis 26:18 (classical source on this passuk; not listed as a numbered Torah Temimah unit here).
Lemma / focus: וישב ויחפר.
English: The wells which they had dug in the days of Avraham his father and which the Philistines had stopped—before Yitzchak had left Gerar.
Derash on the verse (Rashi) — not a formal named middah of the 13: the reopening and renaming is read as fidelity to Avraham’s claims.
Yitzchak reopened the wells of Avraham’s days that the Philistines had stopped, and he called them by the names his father had given.
