Reside in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; I will assign all these lands to you and to your heirs, fulfilling the oath that I swore to your father Avraham.

English: The Holy One, blessed be He, said to Moshe: Alas for those who are gone and no more! How many times did I reveal Myself to the Patriarchs, and they did not question My attributes. I said to Yitzchak “Reside in the land and I will bless you”… and he did not question My attributes.

On the daf / in context: Even when the wells were contested and water was scarce, Yitzchak accepted the command to sojourn without complaint, in contrast to later generations.

Custom (Bavli — Patriarchal acceptance without questioning)

What Is Learned

Yitzchak accepted the command “Reside in this land” without questioning the Divine attributes, even when circumstances made the blessing difficult; this is held up as the model of the Patriarchs.
