אֵ֣לֶּה הֵ֞ם בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׁמָעֵאל֙ וְאֵ֣לֶּה שְׁמֹתָ֔ם בְּחַצְרֵיהֶ֖ם וּבְטִֽירֹתָ֑ם שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂ֥ר נְשִׂיאִ֖ם לְאֻמֹּתָֽם׃

These are the sons of Yishmael and these are their names by their villages and by their encampments: twelve chieftains of as many tribes.

בחצריהם. כְּרַכִּים שֶׁאֵין לָהֶם חוֹמָה, וְתַּרְגּוּמוֹ בְּפַצְחֵיהוֹן שֶׁהֵם מְפֻצָּחִים, לְשׁוֹן פְּתִיחָה, כְּמוֹ פִּצְחוּ וְרַנְּנוּ (תהילים צ"ח):

English: Unwalled towns; the Targum renders “in their open places,” for they are open, from the language of opening.

On the daf / in context: The twelve sons become twelve tribal chiefs dwelling in open settlements and fortified camps, fulfilling the earlier promise of twelve princes.
