TT lemma: ויקח את המאכלת.
English: “And he took the knife.” From here [we learn] that a burnt-offering requires a knife for slaughter, for here it was a burnt-offering, as it is written, “and he offered it as a burnt-offering.”
Derash on the verse (Bavli sugya) — not a formal named middah of the 13. A narrative detail becomes a source for sacrificial procedure.
A burnt-offering requires slaughter with a knife; the Akeidah, which is called an olah, records the taking of the ma’achelet.
