Derash on the verse (Rashi) — not a formal named middah of the 13. “Many days” is given concrete numerical sense by contrast with a prior residence.
Even a “sojourn” can stretch longer than a prior settled period; the text’s “many days” invites careful accounting of the Patriarch’s years.
