And Avraham rose early in the morning to the place where he had stood before Hashem.
Torah Temimah points to Berachos 6b. E-Daf · Sefaria — Berachos 6b
TT lemma: אשר עמד שם.
“Where he had stood.” It was taught: “Standing” means only prayer, as it is said, “And Pinchos stood up and prayed.” This teaches that Avraham our father fixed a place for his prayer.
Derash on the verse (Bavli sugya) — not a formal named middah of the 13. The return to the identical spot yields the requirement of a fixed prayer place.
Avraham fixed a permanent place for his prayer; one should likewise designate a fixed location for tefillah.
