וּמִכׇּל־הָ֠חַי מִֽכׇּל־בָּשָׂ֞ר שְׁנַ֧יִם מִכֹּ֛ל תָּבִ֥יא אֶל־הַתֵּבָ֖ה לְהַחֲיֹ֣ת אִתָּ֑ךְ זָכָ֥ר וּנְקֵבָ֖ה יִֽהְיֽוּ׃

And of every living thing, of all flesh, two of each you shall bring into the ark to keep alive with you; they shall be male and female.

Chazal

לְהַחֲיוֹת אִתָּךְ — אִתָּךְ בְּדוֹמִין לְךָ, לְמַעֵט טְרֵפָה.

“To keep alive with you” — “with you” means those similar to you, to exclude a treifah (an animal with a fatal defect that cannot live twelve months).

On the daf / in context: Because the Flood year lasted twelve months, only animals capable of surviving that span were to be taken. A treifah, which by definition cannot live a full year, is therefore excluded. The phrase “with you” further implies that Noach himself was whole; the same standard is applied to the animals.
